Home Pleasure Parties have been in existence in the United States since the early 1970's. The first was called “Just For Play”. The concept of showing erotica in private homes was started by a high school Home Economics teacher. Her idea caught on and women from all over the United States signed on to do presentations. 
The owner got rich quick but eventually went bankrupt. Once their contract with her expired, her representatives from around the country started their own companies with a home pleasure party blueprint. Before home pleasure parties, the only place you could buy erotica, aka adult novelties, was in adult ‘bookstores’. If they call the manager a madam, what does that make the reps? Whores, prostitutes and call girls do not enjoy sex. They use it to satisfy the customers. In the pleasure party industry, the shift is pleasure for both participants. Furthermore, if the industry called their own employees something questionable or disrespectful, how reliable can their representatives be? And more importantly, how reliable can they be? You couldn't be confident that you'd ever get your products or hear from the representative again. It is true, in the beginning, many less than desirables latched on for fast cash, leaving a bad reputation on the industry. Slowly but surely, those individuals are being weeded out. Today there are many different approaches to the pleasure party industry, but word of mouth is still the industry’s biggest form of advertisement. Companies need good reputations. To acheive this many focus their attention on satisfying the customer with quality products, efficient delivery, and no hassles. Twenty years ago there were less than 100 pleasure party companies in the United States. Today there are over 10,000 and they're all over the world. Most are owned and operated by an individual who presents the products, fills the orders, keeps inventory, and attends business to business conventions to keep up with the newest products, ideas, and innovations. Many of these women still do not realize what a fabulous tool this home demonstration can be for raising the level of consciousness when it comes to sexuality and sensuality. In the privacy of a home questions get asked and answered, ideas and suggestions are examined and revealed.
